wedding PHOTOGRAPHY – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As a full-time professional photographer with years of experience shooting weddings across the United Kingdom, I am dedicated to putting my couples at ease. My goal is to capture beautiful, high-quality photographs while maintaining a high level of professionalism while blending in with your guests throughout the day.

To ensure each couple receives the attention they deserve, I limit the number of weddings I photograph annually. This allows me to provide the same level of exceptional service to every couple. With packages that include 8 hours of coverage or more, I can ensure that every cherished moment from your preparations to the evening celebration is captured. This relaxed approach eliminates the pressure of rushing through the day and avoids too many posed shots, which can often miss the natural, candid moments that make wedding photography so special.

For couples with later ceremony times, weekday weddings, or those getting married during the off-season, I offer custom quotations and will reduce the hours of coverage accordingly. Take a look at our Mini-Digital packages.

In addition to weddings, I also work across the UK photographing exclusive properties, agricultural land, award ceremonies and construction sites for blue-chip companies. Due to non-disclosure agreements, much of this work cannot be showcased publicly, but it allows me to bring a unique level of experience and technical expertise to all my photography.

Throughout the day, I take a very relaxed approach, allowing you to enjoy your special moments while I capture them naturally. I shoot in a variety of styles, including reportage (candid) and contemporary, giving you a mix of images to choose from for your wedding album or wall art. This is something I’ll always discuss with you when we go over the timing and details of the day, ensuring that your preferences are reflected in the final images.

Your password protected gallery will usually be delivered within six weeks during the busy peak season, although it can often be ready sooner – sometimes as early as 10 days to two weeks. Many couples appreciate receiving a few sneak peeks on social media just a few days after the wedding, and I’m always happy to provide these to keep the excitement going!

You have the option to add a second photographer to your package or choose our Deluxe package, which includes one. This ensures comprehensive coverage of your wedding day, capturing both the front and rear of the ceremony, the speeches at the top table, and guest reactions from multiple angles. More importantly, it allows us to capture a wider range of candid and natural moments throughout the day.

With a second photographer, we can also be in two places at once, allowing us to photograph both bridal, groom or same sex preparations. This way, when your gallery is ready, you’ll have the chance to enjoy both sets of getting ready images that neither of you would have seen.

A typical 10 hour package is usually around 550/600 pictures, the Deluxe package between 750 to 900.

Of course we can!

I hope the wedding packages and bolt-ons offer a great variety of options, but if not, please don’t hesitate to call or contact us through the website. We’re always happy to tailor the hours, album sizes, page spreads, or even add our fun, funky, and retro photo-booth to your package for an extra touch of excitement!

Yes, this is something I include in all packages as I am fully licensed by the CAA and have close to ten years of commercial drone flying experience. There’s no extra charge for this service, but due to UK drone laws, permissions, and unpredictable weather, drone use is subject to the contractual terms and conditions for each wedding or commercial job.

I currently hold a CAA GVC Operational Authorisation (OA) certificate and the A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC). If needed, I can provide digital copies of these certifications, along with my insurance documents, to meet any venue or job requirements.

No problem at all!

With a background in IT that took me all over the UK and ROI, I’ve always enjoyed a good road trip. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing weddings in some truly unique locations, including a private island off the Devon coast, a cliff top in Cornwall, and the beautiful forests of North Yorkshire and the Peak District.

If you’re planning a destination wedding, I’m more than happy to travel and be part of your big day. Please note that traveling expenses will be included in your quotation.

100% I am and you should be asking all your suppliers this question, as you will find some are not.

I carry public liability insurance for both ground-based photography and all aspects of drone imagery, with separate policies as required by law. In addition, I hold employer liability and full professional indemnity insurance.

Digital copies of these insurance documents, along with my CAA GVC Operational Authorisation (OA) drone certificate and A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC), are available upon request to meet yours and venue requirements.

All of my equipment is also fully PAT tested, ensuring safety and compliance at every event.

To confirm your wedding day photography, a non-refundable booking fee of 25% is required to secure your date. Bookings are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, as popular dates often fill up quickly – sometimes years in advance.

The remaining balance is due one calendar month before your wedding date. Full terms and conditions are available upon request and will always be sent out with your package quotation.

Albums are included with the Deluxe packages and can also be purchased later if you’ve chosen a digital or bespoke package. Selecting your favourite images is simple – just choose them from your private gallery. Once your selections are made, we’ll go over details like additional pages, front cover images, and wording to create a personalised album that perfectly captures your wedding day.

By law, copyright is automatically granted to the photographer or, in the case of a second photographer, to the employing business (i.e., Screen Photography Limited). Your photographs include a license for unlimited personal use by the couple or purchaser. Personal use covers activities like sharing on social media and printing in a non-commercial environment.

For commercial use or sharing with suppliers from your wedding day to promote their business, prior written consent is required. This is outlined in the signed contract. Commercial use will incur additional charges, and to obtain a cost, please contact us via the form or email. Unauthorised use may result in direct invoicing to the person or company involved.

Unauthorised or illegal use of any image whether screen grabbed, copied, downloaded, or otherwise used without permission for business or product promotion will result in an invoice for each image used. Screenshots of the unauthorised use will be provided along with the invoice as proof.

I enjoy a mix of walking, hiking, cycling, and capturing images for myself—whether it’s wildlife, sports, landscapes, or flying the drone. My personal work has given me the opportunity to enter National and International exhibitions, where I’ve won gold medal awards in various genres. I’ve also achieved qualifications like the CPAGB (Credit award of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) and a BPE5* within the British Photographic Exhibitions.

And when I get a spare weekend, which can be rare we head out and have some family fun.
